Grit https://www.ted.com/talks/angela_lee_duckworth_the_key_to_success_grit Мои мысли на тему: I've always thought about why someone is more successful than me? And I explained it that they're more talented or maybe they're smarter than me. It was until I heard about the theory of "grit". This theory belongs to Angela Lee Duckworth. She is a psychologist at the University of Pennsylvania. When Angela was 27 years old, she left a high-flying job for a job teaching math to seventh graders in a New York public schools. She quickly realized that some of the strongest students didn't have stratospheric I.Q. scores, some of her smartest students were not doing well. After several years researching she came to the conclusion that in all very different contexts one thing predictor of success. It wasn't good looks and it wasn't I.Q. It was grit. Grit is passion and perseverance for very long-term goals. In short if I want my dreams to come True I need to work really hard. But what srtruck even more me it's idea called "growth mindset". It's the belief that ability to learn is not fixed, that it can change with my effort. "Growth mindset" learn about the brain how it can change and grow in response to challenge. But on the way to our best future everyone faces with failures. I must confess, I would give up to study English when faced with failure many times. Because nobody taught me that failure is not a permanet condition. Furthermore, if I want to be successful I have to be willing to fail, to be wrong. As Michael Jordan said: "I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I cann't accept not trying". So, I suggest that you watch this great video presentation by Angela Lee Duckworth. Don't give up and be grittier!))
